Senior Legal Counsel (UAE National)

About the role

du is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel who is an UAE national to provide commercial and ICT‑related legal support across the organization. The role involves drafting, negotiating and managing a wide range of contracts while ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk policies.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal contact for enterprise and commercial matters, including ICT partnerships, manpower agreements and other commercial arrangements.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, enterprise, ICT, technology, partnership, data‑sharing, NDA, MOU and standard template agreements.
• Provide legal support on data security, confidentiality and sensitive matters, managing data‑sharing agreements and ensuring proper protection.
• Identify legal and commercial risks, offering pragmatic, business‑oriented solutions and general advisory support.
• Develop and deliver legal training, contribute to policy and process improvements, and manage external counsel for quality and cost control.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in an in‑house legal role or law firm in the UAE, with a strong focus on commercial contracts.
• Ability to work independently, engage with key stakeholders and support ICT, technology, partnership and data‑related agreements.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is desirable but not essential.
