Senior Manager Electrical - Data Centres

About the role

DAMAC Properties is hiring a Senior Manager Electrical for its data centre business in Dubai. The role leads the electrical engineering design, technical coordination and delivery of hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects from concept through commissioning and handover, providing technical leadership for all electrical systems so they meet project objectives, company standards, client requirements, operational reliability, energy efficiency and applicable international codes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design and technical delivery of hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects, developing design strategies, execution plans and technical roadmaps.
• Manage medium-voltage, high-voltage, low-voltage, UPS, standby power generation, grounding, lightning protection, lighting and small power systems, and lead the design of mission-critical systems for high availability and redundancy.
• Review and approve electrical deliverables at concept, schematic, detailed design, IFC and as-built stages, and ensure compliance with Employer's Requirements, company standards and international codes.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, ICT, ELV, security and specialist systems, and monitor consultant performance and design schedules.
• Establish electrical engineering standards and specifications, conduct technical reviews, design audits and constructability reviews, and support value engineering.
• Support procurement by reviewing technical submissions, equipment specifications, vendor offers and shop drawings, and provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Act as the primary electrical engineering technical authority, present engineering solutions to senior management, and lead, mentor and develop electrical engineering teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's in Electrical Engineering or Project Management preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering design and project delivery, including 7-10 years leading electrical engineering teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience delivering complex data centre developments from concept through commissioning.
• Experience coordinating with international consultants, utility providers, contractors, equipment manufacturers and vendors.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HV, MV, LV distribution, UPS, standby generators, busway systems, electrical protection, grounding and lightning protection.
• Thorough knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS and local authority codes and standards.
• Understanding of electrical engineering coordination, procurement support, construction administration, commissioning and integrated systems testing.
