Senior Manager - Electrical

About the role

WhiteCrow Research, a global talent research and sourcing firm, is recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing retail group in the Middle East. The Senior Manager - Electrical leads the electrical engineering strategy and delivery for assigned projects, covering design, consultancy management, testing and commissioning, and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering strategy and delivery plan, turning development briefs into design criteria, scopes of services, technical standards and governance controls.
• Evaluate, appoint and manage MEP consultants, specialist designers, contractors and suppliers, ensuring timely deliverables and contractual compliance.
• Direct the design of power, lighting, emergency power, earthing, lightning protection, ELV, ICT, AV and security systems across concept, schematic, detailed design, tender and IFC stages.
• Ensure designs comply with company requirements, UAE regulations and the needs of DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, SIRA and other authorities.
• Support feasibility studies, tenders and bids, recommend appointments and drive value engineering, energy efficiency and smart-building integration.
• Govern construction submissions (shop drawings, RFIs, method statements, design changes) and monitor site execution through inspections and audits.
• Lead testing and commissioning governance, authority inspections, energization and performance verification.
• Manage handover and close-out, including NOCs, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties and snag closure.
• Oversee cost, programme, procurement and technical risks, and report to Project Delivery leadership.
• Lead, coach and develop the electrical engineering team and set consistent technical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; a master's is advantageous.
• Professional engineering registration, chartership or a recognized project-management certification is preferred.
• Minimum 12-15 years of progressive electrical engineering experience in major real estate or infrastructure developments, including at least five years in a management or technical-leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary consultants, contractors and specialist systems across multiple concurrent projects in the UAE or a comparable regulatory environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE electrical regulations, utility and authority requirements, international codes and sustainable systems of work.
• Electrical design, testing and commissioning governance, and authority approvals.
