Senior Manager - External R&D

About the role

G42 Healthcare is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its External R&D function. The role will oversee academic research partnerships, joint research programs, and the evaluation of external research proposals, ensuring alignment with G42’s AI and healthcare priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and manage G42’s academic research partnership model with universities and research institutions.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day execution of joint research programs, fellowships, and visiting researcher engagements.
• Evaluate external research proposals for technical merit, relevance, and feasibility, and provide structured recommendations.
• Align external research activities with G42’s strategic research priorities and monitor any drift.
• Track and report research outputs such as publications, models, code, and datasets.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in research management, academic partnerships, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, and their applications in healthcare.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex research projects.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders and external partners.
