Senior Manager, Treasury & Capital Market Operations

About the role

The Senior Manager leads Treasury & Capital Market (TCM) Operations, delivering world-class operational support to the TCM business and driving end-to-end automation of key activities and processes. The role covers product support for the RBG, CIBG and IBG customer groups and manages multiple specialist teams working from office and remote locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage TCM Operations so that trading, market and credit risks are adequately controlled and monitored, and deviations from authorised limits are identified and escalated.
• Ensure timely processing, settlement and accounting of FX, money market and capital market, equity products (local and overseas).
• Develop and execute a TCM Operations market and transformation strategy aligned with the Bank's vision, mission and values.
• Implement controls in line with internal and local and international regulatory and statutory frameworks (e.g. Basel).
• Lead planning, operations and problem solving to meet service level agreements and partner with TCM, CIBG, IBG and RBG business and product teams on customer experience, efficiency and quality.
• Drive standardisation and automation, identify process improvements and realise their benefits.
• Coach and counsel managers, handle job rotation, cross-training, performance management and training needs, and keep operating procedures documented and up to date.
• Maintain a satisfactory audit rating and zero operational losses, and contribute to the delivery of the Bank's strategic projects.

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree from a reputable university desirable, or a graduate with requisite experience from a top bank.
• 10 years' experience in Treasury Operations of a medium-sized bank at a senior management level.
• Good knowledge of local regulatory rules and legislation and international requirements.

Required skills

• Technical understanding of all TCM products and risk, and familiarity with derivative valuation techniques.
• Familiarity with project management in a Lean/Agile environment.
• Strong knowledge of emerging digital technologies, trends and best practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, and strong leadership, team-building and problem-solving abilities.
