Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead on‑site execution of complex mechanical systems, bridging design and installation for HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing works. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure compliance with international standards and local regulations while driving quality and schedule performance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily field management of HVAC, fire fighting, plumbing and drainage installations.
• Identify and resolve site‑specific coordination issues, providing practical engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with civil and electrical teams to secure clearances and integrate mechanical services.
• Monitor health, safety and environment (HSE) compliance, manage Permit to Work processes, and control hot‑work and heavy‑lifting activities.
• Lead on‑site meetings with subcontractors to ensure proper structural openings and clearances.
• Prepare and execute testing & commissioning packages for chillers, fire pumps, AHUs and BMS integration.
• Represent the project during authority inspections (e.g., Civil Defense) and secure approvals.
• Oversee project close‑out, including As‑Built drawings, O&M manuals and punch‑list clearance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in construction, preferably in contracting environments.
• Proven track record in site engineering and subcontractor coordination.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and local authority regulations.
