Senior Mechanical Engineer (MEP)

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a well-known Civil & MEP contracting company in the UAE, which has ongoing building and infrastructure projects. The engineer leads all mechanical works from mobilisation to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting) from mobilisation to handover
• Review shop drawings, material submittals and method statements, and coordinate approvals with the consultant and client
• Plan resources, manpower and work sequence to meet the project schedule and budget
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and other trades to resolve site clashes and design issues
• Supervise testing, commissioning and snagging, and prepare handover and as-built documentation
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, QA/QC procedures, HSE standards and local authority (DM/DCD/Civil Defence) requirements
• Guide and mentor site engineers, foremen and supervisors

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of experience in MEP execution with Civil/MEP contracting companies; GCC experience preferred
• Experience with high-rise, commercial or residential buildings
• UAE driving licence and Society of Engineers registration preferred

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire-fighting systems and international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA)
• AutoCAD and MS Office; MS Project/Primavera is an advantage
