Senior Mechanical Engineer - Static Equipment

About the role

Worley, a global energy, chemicals and resources consulting, engineering, procurement and construction firm, is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Static) to lead static equipment engineering during FEED, EPC and detailed engineering phases of oil and gas projects. The role provides technical leadership for the design, specification and procurement of static equipment and includes mentoring a team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage static equipment engineering activities during FEED, EPC and detailed engineering phases.
• Provide technical leadership for the design, specification and procurement of pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, tanks, separators, filters, reactors and package equipment.
• Develop and review equipment datasheets, specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and vendor documentation.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications and international codes such as ASME, API, TEMA and ASTM.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation and Procurement disciplines.
• Review and approve vendor drawings, calculations, manufacturing procedures and inspection requirements.
• Support constructability reviews, value engineering and cost optimization.
• Take part in design reviews, HAZOP, constructability workshops and technical meetings with clients, vendors and contractors.
• Monitor engineering progress against schedule, quality and HSE requirements.
• Mentor and supervise a team of Senior Engineers and Engineers, and interface with clients, licensors, suppliers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, including at least 5 years (preferred) in the GCC region.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position on international major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
• PMC and ADNOC experience required.
• Experience in FEED and EPC phases of oil and gas projects.
• Offshore project experience required.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API 650, API 620, API 661, API 660, TEMA and NACE requirements.
• Technical bid evaluation, vendor management and fabrication oversight for static equipment.
• Leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.
