Senior Mechanical Technician – SMP 1 – Steel Plant Shifts

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Technician to join our steel making plant in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on SMP 1 mechanical equipment and operates on a shift basis, ensuring reliable plant performance during both routine and shutdown periods.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in planned plant shutdowns and major maintenance activities, leading technicians and fitters.
• Allocate daily maintenance tasks, supervise contractors, verify work quality, and provide technical guidance.
• Identify, request, and manage mechanical spare parts, consumables, and tools, ensuring safe storage and usage.
• Maintain accurate shift records, log breakdowns, corrective actions, and update CMMS/SAP.
• Ensure all activities comply with HSE procedures, including LOTO, Permit‑to‑Work, PPE usage, and safe lifting practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a steel making plant.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field.
• Proven ability to lead teams during shutdowns and routine maintenance.
• Strong understanding of safety and HSE standards in an industrial environment.
