Senior Officer - Career Development & Industry Engagement

About the role

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) is looking for a Senior Officer to join its Alumni and Career Services Department, reporting to the Senior Manager. The role leads and coordinates the university's work experience, internship, career development and industry engagement initiatives, building relationships with employers, industry partners and professional organisations while helping students gain work experience and move into the workforce. It also supports career services programmes, community and industry engagement, department communications and social media.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the work experience and internship programme, including employer and partner relationships and placement coordination.
• Maintain a database of employers, partners and opportunities, internship records and feedback, and prepare regular reports.
• Support career development activities such as workshops, employer talks, career fairs and networking events.
• Manage community and industry engagement initiatives and special projects assigned by the Senior Manager.
• Manage the department's social media channels, including content planning, calendars and performance reporting.
• Prepare correspondence, reports and presentations, and coordinate meetings and departmental activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Education, Communications, Career Development, Management or a related field; a Master's degree is desirable.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in partnerships, industry relations, career services, alumni relations, communications, social media, event management, business development or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in internship coordination, industry engagement, employer relations or career services.
• Training or certification in career development, internship coordination, employer engagement, partnership development, HR, project management or a related area is desirable.
