Senior Officer Contracts - Civil Engineer

About the role

AL TARIQ is hiring a Senior Officer Contracts Civil Engineer in Abu Dhabi to manage contracts for civil and construction projects. The role covers the full contract lifecycle, keeping contractual, legal and technical aspects aligned with the company's objectives and project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Review Scope of Work specifications with requesters and end users.
• Prepare tender documents (ITT, RFP, RFQ) and evaluate contractor bids on technical and financial grounds.
• Prepare final contractual instruments such as purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, service maintenance agreements and contracts.
• Follow up on deliveries, coordinate delivery notes and acceptance certificates, and handle returns, shortages, overages and quality issues.
• Negotiate prices, timelines, payment schedules and other terms with contractors.
• Manage change orders, monitor vendor performance and oversee contract closure.
• Assess and mitigate contract risks, support contract audits and prepare reports on contract performance and risks.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and company standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and maintain confidentiality of company documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least five years of experience in a purchasing role (a civil engineering certificate can be equivalent).
• Preferred: professional certificates in contract or procurement.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• UAE driver's licence, or ability to obtain one.

Required skills

• Excellent grasp of Microsoft Office software.
• Proficiency in an ERP system is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer relations skills.
