Senior Officer – Operational Risk

About the role

The Senior Officer – Operational Risk supports the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Bank’s Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework. The role works closely with business units to ensure regulatory compliance, strengthen controls, and improve operational resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of ORM, Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Identity & Access Management (IAM) across the bank.
• Assist in promoting a strong risk culture through awareness, best‑practice sharing and training initiatives.
• Maintain detailed tracking of ORM activities and ensure timely escalation of issues.
• Help update ORM policies, procedures and guidelines to align with regulatory requirements (e.g., CBUAE, NCEMA) and internal governance.
• Prepare regular and ad‑hoc ORM reports, MIS and dashboards for governance committees and senior management.
• Support business units in risk and control identification, facilitate RCSA exercises and review submissions for quality and consistency.
• Assist in planning and executing second‑line control testing, documenting results and following up on remediation.
• Ensure timely reporting of operational risk incidents, maintain the Operational Risk Register and consolidate KRI reporting.

Required profile

• Significant experience in operational risk management within a banking or financial services environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as CBUAE and NCEMA.
• Knowledge of Business Continuity Management and Identity & Access Management processes.
• Ability to prepare and present risk reports, dashboards and governance documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
