Senior Planning Engineer - Civil Construction

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Senior Planning Engineer in Dubai for civil construction projects. The role develops, monitors and controls project schedules so that projects are completed efficiently, on time and within budget, working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, clients and consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (Primavera P6/MS Project) based on contract requirements, set baselines and identify critical paths
• Track progress, update schedules and prepare periodic progress reports including Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis
• Maintain records of delays, disruptions and claims for contractual purposes
• Coordinate resource allocation of manpower, materials and equipment, and assist in cash flow forecasts and budget monitoring
• Identify risks, propose mitigation plans, conduct forensic delay analysis and prepare extension-of-time (EOT) claims
• Work with contract and commercial teams on claims and variations, and attend progress meetings with clients, consultants and internal teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 8-12 years of experience in planning and scheduling within a civil contracting company
• Experience in high-rise buildings preferred
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and construction claims

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project
• Proficiency in Excel
