Senior Planning Engineer - Site

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in 100 countries, is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Planning Engineer to join its team in Dubai, UAE. As a Site Planning Engineer, you will help ensure the efficient execution of construction projects by developing, maintaining and optimising project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using advanced planning software such as Primavera P6
• Analyse project timelines, resources and dependencies to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers and subcontractors to gather accurate information for schedule updates
• Monitor project progress and report variances between planned and actual performance
• Prepare and present periodic progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting milestones and potential risks
• Carry out resource analysis and optimisation of manpower and equipment
• Help develop recovery plans when projects fall behind schedule
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations in Dubai
• Take part in project meetings and maintain accurate records of planning documents and revisions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• At least 15 years of experience in construction project planning, preferably in a site-based role
• Thorough understanding of construction methodologies and techniques
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Dubai
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and on-site, adapting to changing project requirements

Required skills

• Project management software, particularly Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• AutoCAD or similar CAD software
• Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Preferred: professional project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2)
