Senior Planning Engineer - Site

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm active in the Middle East, is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Planning Engineer to join its team in Dubai. As a Site Planning Engineer, you will help ensure the efficient execution of construction projects by developing, maintaining and optimising project schedules. The position is within the Energy and Sustainable Cities business line, under the Buildings service line, and is offered on a permanent contract.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using advanced planning software such as Primavera P6
• Analyse project timelines, resources and dependencies to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers and subcontractors to gather accurate information for schedule updates
• Monitor project progress and report variances between planned and actual performance
• Prepare and present periodic progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting milestones and potential risks
• Conduct resource analysis and optimisation of manpower and equipment
• Assist in developing recovery plans when projects fall behind schedule
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations in Dubai
• Take part in project meetings and maintain accurate records of planning documents and revisions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction project planning, preferably in a site-based role
• Thorough understanding of construction methodologies and techniques
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Dubai
• Professional certification in project management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) preferred
• Willingness to work on-site and in a multicultural environment

Required skills

• Proficiency in project management software, particularly Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and effective stakeholder communication
