Senior Principal Engineer - AI & HPC Solutions Architect

About the role

Dell Technologies is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead the design and deployment of large‑scale AI and HPC infrastructure for enterprise and hyperscale customers. You will act as the trusted technical advisor, collaborating with Dell consultants, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect highly scalable AI and HPC infrastructures supporting large‑scale model training and inference workloads.
• Lead architecture and implementation of enterprise and hyperscale AI environments using NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel technologies.
• Design and implement GPU clusters ranging from several thousand to tens of thousands of accelerators.
• Deploy and optimize orchestration platforms such as NVIDIA Base Command Manager, Slurm, and Kubernetes.
• Drive benchmarking, validation, performance engineering, and scalability testing using tools like NCCL, HPL, MLPerf, and IO500.
• Provide expert consulting on AI factory architecture, scalability, platform engineering, and operational strategy.
• Collaborate with customer technical leadership to define long‑term AI infrastructure roadmaps.
• Lead resolution of complex performance, scalability, and integration challenges across compute, storage, networking, and software layers.
• Mentor architects and engineers and produce comprehensive documentation.

Required profile

• Proven success designing and deploying large‑scale HPC and AI clusters with NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel technologies.
• Strong Linux systems administration, troubleshooting, and automation experience.
• Hands‑on experience with NVIDIA Base Command Manager, Slurm, Kubernetes, or equivalent orchestration platforms.
• Deep expertise in high‑performance networking (InfiniBand, RoCE).
• Extensive experience in system benchmarking, scalability testing, and performance optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex customer engagements and technical workstreams.
