About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to lead the end‑to‑end procurement process within our centralized function. You will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, machinery, spare parts, explosives and services while ensuring timely delivery, cost optimisation and quality compliance across multiple business units.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement cycle for raw materials, machinery, spare parts, explosives and operational consumables.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost efficiencies and support centralized purchasing initiatives.
- Identify, evaluate and onboard qualified suppliers, maintaining an approved vendor database.
- Monitor market trends and pricing to optimise purchasing decisions and timing.
- Negotiate pricing, long‑term agreements, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Manage supplier contracts and resolve commercial, quality or delivery‑related issues.
- Coordinate international sourcing activities, including imports, logistics and customs clearance.
- Collaborate with production, project and warehouse teams to forecast material requirements and ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock shortages and minimise excess stock.
- Process purchase requisitions and orders through ERP systems, ensuring accurate technical specifications.
- Ensure all procured materials comply with technical specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
- Prepare procurement reports, supplier performance evaluations, cost analyses and savings reports for management.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.
- CIPS certification or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
- 5–8 years of procurement experience in manufacturing, construction materials, mining, quarrying or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience working within a centralized procurement function.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, industrial machinery spare parts and international procurement processes.
Required skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
