Senior Product Designer, Visual and Design Systems

About the role

A long-term role within the platform team, split roughly 70% visual design and design system and 30% product design. The designer leads the visual direction of the product suite and owns the visual layer of the design system, building on a token-based system with an established component library and a new visual direction developed with an AI agent trained on the brand.

Key responsibilities

• Review current products and decide which visual inconsistencies to fix first.
• Define the visual language: typography, colour, layout and density, iconography, illustration and motion.
• Build it into the design system as components, including interaction states, transitions and micro-interactions.
• Turn the early visual direction into a documented standard for all squads.
• Work with other designers and engineering to get the system adopted across products.
• Design and ship product work for the platform team.

Required profile

• Senior or lead-level product design experience, with visual design as the strongest skill.
• Portfolio showing visual systems and the thinking behind them, beyond well-designed user flows.
• Experience building and maintaining a design system used by designers and engineers.
• Experience with motion and interaction design.
• Experience customising and extending a code-based component library such as shadcn/ui, Radix or Material UI.
• Comfortable working close to code; can read HTML and CSS.
• Confident presenting and defending design decisions to product managers and engineers.
• Full professional English; based in or willing to relocate to Dubai.

• Nice to have: hands-on with Claude Code or an equivalent agentic coding tool, working knowledge of LLMs and core AI concepts, front-end development experience, brand or editorial design background
