Senior Product Manager – Payments Platform

About the role

Join Payward Services, the enterprise infrastructure arm of Kraken, to lead the vision and roadmap of its Payments Platform. You will shape a multi‑tenant backend and the integration surfaces that internal teams use to deliver seamless pay‑in and payout experiences worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the Payward payments platform, covering both the shared backend and integration surfaces such as hosted pages, SDKs, embedded components and direct APIs.
• Map requirements across internal clients, prioritize competing needs, and translate them into a sequenced, high‑impact roadmap with clear milestones.
• Partner with engineering to deliver scalable, high‑impact releases and ensure the platform supports a growing range of use cases.
• Collaborate with banking and partnership teams to integrate new PSPs and banks, embedding compliance, risk and legal considerations early in the development cycle.
• Define and track success metrics such as time‑to‑launch a rail, client go‑live speed, rail coverage and payment success rates.

Required profile

• 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in platform, API or infrastructure products serving internal teams or developers.
• Strong technical fluency; ability to read RFCs, challenge architecture decisions and write API specifications that engineers respect.
• Experience shipping developer‑facing products such as APIs, SDKs or embeddable UI components.
• Proven stakeholder management skills, aligning multiple priorities without direct authority.
• Comfort with data‑driven goal setting and performance measurement.

Required skills

• Payments systems knowledge (pay‑ins, payouts, PSPs, ACH, SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT, local methods).
• API design and specification.
• SDK development concepts.
• Understanding of compliance, risk and legal requirements in financial services.
