Senior Project Engineer - Facilities & EHS

About the role

Orbitworks is looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer in Facilities and EHS to support the expansion and development of its satellite manufacturing facility in Abu Dhabi. The role starts with the upcoming facility expansion project, then moves to coordinating future upgrades, modifications and infrastructure improvements, while leading day-to-day EHS activities across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate facility expansion, cleanroom construction, infrastructure upgrades and future modifications from planning through commissioning and handover
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, material submittals and contractor proposals
• Coordinate civil, architectural, MEP, fire protection and specialist cleanroom works
• Monitor schedules, budgets, contractor performance, quality and progress, and support procurement, cost assessments and variations
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, defect rectification and handover, keeping construction safe around ongoing manufacturing
• Liaise with TAQA, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, KEZAD and other authorities for NOCs, utility connections, inspections and approvals
• Lead EHS across construction, maintenance and manufacturing: inspections, risk assessments, safety audits, incident investigations, permits-to-work and ISO 45001/14001 compliance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil or a related engineering discipline
• 7-12 years of experience in industrial construction, facility expansion or infrastructure projects
• Experience in operational industrial or manufacturing facilities and with UAE authorities
• Valid UAE driving licence

Required skills

• MEP systems, building utilities and industrial infrastructure
• Project execution, contractor coordination, scheduling, cost monitoring and commissioning
• EHS implementation, risk assessments and contractor safety management
• MS Project or equivalent scheduling software, Microsoft Excel and engineering drawing review
• Preferred: NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001/14001/14644 familiarity, PMP
