Senior Project Engineer – Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

KBR is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of Pre‑FEED, FEED, Detailed Design and EPCM projects in the oil and gas sector. The role acts as a key engineering interface across multiple disciplines and functions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate FEED and detailed engineering activities across process, mechanical, piping, civil, structural, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Review and approve design bases, drawings, specifications, datasheets and technical queries.
• Support development and maintenance of project execution plans, schedules, deliverable registers and resource plans.
• Monitor engineering progress, identify risks and drive mitigation actions.
• Lead technical reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, SIL, constructability and value‑engineering workshops.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, QA/QC, HSE and customer requirements.
• Coordinate vendor technical interfaces and support procurement activities.
• Assist construction, commissioning, start‑up and close‑out activities, including as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• 15+ years of oil and gas experience, including FEED, detailed design and EPCM delivery.
• Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams on major capital projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; professional registration (Chartered Engineer, PE) desirable.
• Experience with Middle‑East operators, especially ADNOC, is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of FEED, detailed design and EPCM processes.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, ISO, NFPA and IEC standards.
• Familiarity with modern engineering tools such as SmartPlant, AVEVA, Hexagon, BIM/3D model review platforms.
• Project planning, scheduling, cost control and earned‑value principles.
• Risk management, scope management and engineering change control.
