Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civil Construction

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Dubai for civil construction projects. The role manages cost estimation, contract administration and financial control, preparing estimates, tracking spend, handling variations and claims, and keeping projects within budget and compliant with contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs from drawings and specifications, analyse material, labour and equipment costs, and help prepare budgets and cash flow forecasts
• Review contracts, subcontracts and tenders for risk and compliance, maintain contractual documentation and ensure obligations are met
• Submit monthly interim payment applications, evaluate subcontractor and supplier invoices and certify payments
• Identify and prepare claims for variations, delays and additional works, conduct forensic quantity assessments and support EOT claim documentation
• Monitor costs against budget, identify overruns and suggest savings, and produce cost reports, forecasts and financial analysis
• Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors, take part in progress and commercial meetings and work with planning, procurement and site teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• 8-12 years of experience as a QS in a civil contracting company
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, cost control and claims management
• Experience in high-rise buildings preferred

• AutoCAD, MS Excel, CostX and Primavera P6
• Analytical and negotiation skills, strong communication and report writing
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
