Senior Reactor Engineer – Nuclear Power Plant

About the role

The Senior Reactor Engineer will lead core management activities for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the reactor. You will work closely with fuel vendors, licensing authorities, and plant operators to meet regulatory and performance objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Support design changes, maintain design basis, margin management, and configuration control.
• Provide technical support for Core Protection Calculator (CPC) and Core Operating Limit Supervisory System (COLSS).
• Analyze Reload Safety and Licensing Checklist (RSLC) and Reload Safety Evaluation Report (RSER) to recommend safety improvements.
• Participate in Loading Pattern (LP) meetings and develop final LP recommendations.
• Validate fuel vendor core designs, perform verification and validation (V&V), and assess reload risks.
• Review Low Power Physics Test (LPPT) and Power Ascension Test (PAT) results and advise Main Control Room (MCR) operators.
• Monitor core reactivity, estimate cycle schemes, and develop surveillance calculations for vessel fluence.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in reactor engineering, core design, and nuclear safety.
• Strong knowledge of nuclear standards, industrial codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and external vendors.
• Analytical mindset with the capacity to develop creative technical solutions.
