Senior Relationship Manager - Private Banking, Middle East and Africa

About the role

Julius Baer is hiring a Senior Relationship Manager for its Private Banking business, based in Dubai. The Relationship Manager is the main point of contact between the bank and its clients, acting as an external ambassador and managing a portfolio of High Net Worth and/or Ultra High Net Worth private clients. The role covers client service, business development, risk management and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve clients to the highest standard, responding to their needs promptly and professionally, and tailor wealth management strategies to their financial goals and preferences
• Provide investment advice in line with the bank's policies and asset allocation, and feed client feedback back to specialists
• Take part in client initiatives, new marketing strategies and ad hoc projects requested by management
• Proactively develop and maintain a portfolio of HNW/UHNW clients, deepen relationships and grow revenue through cross-selling and additional share of wallet
• Manage clients at risk and build a succession strategy to reduce attrition and generational transfer losses
• Ensure a strong conduct culture: high-quality KYC, accurate client contact notes, timely clearance of alerts and training, and adherence to risk appetite and compliance rules
• Evaluate credit, trading, compliance and reputational risks, raise concerns and escalate issues to Group Heads, Front Management and the second line of defence

Required profile

• Very good interpersonal skills, persistence, persuasiveness and passion for clients
• Ability to work under pressure, make independent plans and organise work autonomously
• Sound commercial judgement, cultural awareness and familiarity with the legal and regulatory environment
• Willingness to travel
• At least 7-10 years of private banking experience serving a book of HNW clients and acquiring new relationships
• Affinity with the geographic market(s) to be covered
