Senior Researcher - Hardware

About the role

Beacon Red is seeking a Senior Researcher specialized in hardware security to join its EDGE advanced‑technology group in Abu Dhabi. You will lead hands‑on security evaluations of IT products, embedded systems, firmware, software and hardware devices, delivering high‑quality assessments that align with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse products, firmware, software, hardware components, interfaces and technical documentation to identify attack surfaces.
• Perform security testing activities such as vulnerability assessments, firmware analysis, reverse engineering, fuzzing, logical attacks, debug‑interface testing, side‑channel analysis, fault injection, cryptographic testing and overall hardware security assessments.
• Collect, review and interpret technical evidence including logs, traces, binaries, signal captures and measurement data.
• Document findings, vulnerabilities and test results in clear, structured technical reports and maintain traceable records of tools, configurations and evidence.
• Support senior researchers in planning, executing and delivering evaluation projects and contribute to improving testing methodologies, scripts and reusable tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in hardware and firmware security research, preferably in a defence or emerging‑technology environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
