Senior Resident Engineer (Roads/Infrastructure)

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer (Roads/Infrastructure) to join its team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role acts as the company representative to the client and subcontractors, oversees project plans and quality, and manages the project's budget, schedule and scope.

Key responsibilities

• Mobilize company resources to build project teams and act as the company representative to the client and subcontractors during execution.
• Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors, and follow up on project instructions and commitments.
• Take part in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings supporting the client.
• Oversee the establishment of the Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and other required documents.
• Set program requirements, monitor draft and final deliverables against them, and work with managers, project engineers and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules and plans.
• Help devise and execute action plans to fix potential cost overruns or delays, and advise the client and management of changes.
• Maintain current change orders and promote technical and commercial excellence through QA processes.
• Monitor and report progress, milestones and conditions affecting cost or schedule, and hold weekly meetings to review project status and action items.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 20 years of experience delivering large-scale roads and infrastructure programs.
• Ideally 5 years of Abu Dhabi project experience.
• Ability to manage projects, interface with clients and stay hands-on technically.
• Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, with excellent written and oral communication.
• Must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements.
