Senior RF Signal Processing Engineer

About the role

ADVANCED CONCEPTS, an entity within EDGE, designs and deploys advanced autonomous systems such as unmanned aerial vehicles and precision munitions. The Senior Engineer will develop embedded software for RF signal processing and data‑link communications, working on both microcontroller and FPGA platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Implement OSI PHY/layer 1 and layer 2 radio functions on microcontrollers or FPGA.
• Develop embedded C/C++ and Assembly firmware for RF systems, including signal‑processing algorithms.
• Write device drivers and low‑level software for RF chipsets and modules.
• Maintain bare‑metal firmware for ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers and firmware with RTOS.
• Integrate communication protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, CAN, Ethernet) in Linux and microcontroller environments.
• Build Linux images using Yocto and develop FreeRTOS applications.
• Implement Linux drivers, kernel modules, and client/server applications over UDP/TCP/IP.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and performance analysis of RF systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communication or Software Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in embedded software development, including C/C++ and Assembly.
• Strong knowledge of the OSI model, especially PHY and layer 2.
• Proven experience with ARM Cortex‑M architectures and Linux driver/kernel development.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and mentor junior engineers.
