Senior Site Engineer - Structures

About the role

AESG, a specialist consultancy, engineering and advisory firm with offices in London, Riyadh, Singapore, Dubai, Cape Town, Cairo and Sydney, is hiring a Senior Site Engineer Structures in Dubai. The engineer is a senior member of the site supervision team who oversees all structural construction across the project lifecycle and acts as the technical authority for structural works, supporting the Resident Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent site inspections of structural works against approved drawings, specifications and standards
• Review shop drawings, reinforcement detailing, temporary works designs, method statements and material submittals
• Supervise reinforced concrete works (foundations, pile caps, retaining walls, slabs, columns, beams, shear walls, suspended structures)
• Monitor structural steel fabrication, erection and bolted/welded connections
• Verify reinforcement installation, concrete placement, curing and workmanship; witness pours, inspections and testing
• Review concrete mix designs, test reports and lab results
• Prepare NCRs, SORs, RFIs and snag lists, and monitor contractor quality control and corrective action close-out
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP and specialist disciplines, review contractor BIM coordination and attend technical coordination meetings
• Mentor site inspectors and junior engineers and promote quality, safety and programme objectives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 10 years' post-graduate experience in structural site supervision
• Minimum 5 years' UAE/GCC experience on major building construction projects
• Experience in an engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy
• Experience on commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, mixed-use and high-rise developments; data centre experience is advantageous
• Professional registration or Chartered Engineer status is desirable
