Senior Software Developer – R&D Digital Aviation

About the role

Join Vanderlande’s R&D team in Dubai to build cloud‑based solutions that transform baggage handling and airport logistics. You will work on the OpenAir platform and the Aviation Data Hub, delivering data‑driven services for the world’s biggest airports.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop cloud‑native applications using Node.js (backend) and Vue.js (frontend).
• Integrate services with OpenAir and the Aviation Data Hub for real‑time data exchange and analytics.
• Define software architecture, set best practices, and act as design authority for the team.
• Build predictive‑analytics, real‑time monitoring, and optimization services for baggage handling systems.
• Ensure compliance with aviation safety and cybersecurity standards.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices on AWS/Azure.
• Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with proven leadership.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, Vue.js (or similar) and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Hands‑on experience with microservices, API‑first design, test‑driven development, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of data platforms, streaming architectures, and IoT integration.
• Familiarity with aviation or logistics systems is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
