Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

About the role

Bayut & dubizzle are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to join their high‑performing cross‑functional squads in Dubai. You will work on scaling the platform to millions of monthly active users, collaborating with product, QA, design and tech leads.

Key responsibilities

• Gather deep understanding of the dubizzle codebase and technology stack quickly.
• Lead planning sessions for new features and define roll‑out and roll‑back strategies.
• Design, develop and maintain REST‑based APIs and service‑oriented architecture components.
• Write unit tests, conduct code reviews and ensure high code quality.
• Mentor peers, drive post‑release maintenance and improve reliability and efficiency of core systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily with Python and Django.
• Proven experience building high‑traffic, large‑scale web products.
