Senior Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve the high‑traffic consumer surfaces that bring millions of users to Property Finder each month. You will work on search, property and location content platforms across multiple countries and languages, directly impacting acquisition and revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the backend services powering our highest‑traffic consumer surfaces.
• Own end‑to‑end development: design, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and iteration based on production feedback.
• Build new services and features in TypeScript (Node.js) and maintain existing Go services.
• Work on caching, CDN behaviour, content delivery, and rendering paths to optimise cost and performance.
• Support multi‑country and multi‑language localisation from day one.
• Partner with product, SEO, data, and web/mobile engineers to create maintainable systems.
• Drive operational excellence: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and continuous reliability improvements.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and PRs, and shape backend standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience on high‑traffic, consumer‑facing systems.
• Strong TypeScript (Node.js) expertise; ability to work with Go.
• Experience designing and operating distributed services, APIs, and service boundaries.
• Hands‑on with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), caching (Redis), and search (OpenSearch/Elasticsearch).
• Production experience on AWS with containerised workloads and observability (metrics, logging, tracing, SLOs).
