Senior Software Engineer - Python

About the role

Emirates is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialized in Python to join its agile feature team. You will design, develop, and maintain software solutions that support the Emirates Group business while collaborating with senior technical engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to analyse technical requirements and contribute to design.
• Translate technical solutions into low‑level design and production‑ready code.
• Write secure, optimized Python code following Emirates Group coding standards.
• Participate in rotational on‑call support and resolve production incidents within SLAs.
• Ensure 100% unit test coverage as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
• Analyse and fix defects with minimal rework and adopt refactoring practices to limit code debt.
• Implement logging and monitoring hooks in all developed components.
• Stay current with relevant technologies and apply learnings to improve code quality.
• Contribute to internal engineering playbooks and standards documentation.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend application development.
• Proven ability to work independently on medium‑sized initiatives.
