Senior Specialist – Rail Operations

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Rail Operations is responsible for overseeing and improving the security performance of metro and tram services. This role monitors contractor compliance, coordinates with external agencies such as Dubai Police, and ensures that security standards, emergency preparedness, and information‑security requirements are effectively applied across all rail systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review and recommend improvements to the security performance of the O&M contractor for metro and tram stations, train and tram services, incident handling, and car‑park management.
• Assess security‑related matters to ensure the contractor meets operational, maintenance, and long‑term security plans.
• Provide input on cash‑handling procedures, by‑law execution, and security operating procedures.
• Coordinate with external agencies, especially during special events and emergencies.
• Monitor contractor deliverables, resource utilization, and compliance with concession agreements and service levels.
• Plan and conduct emergency exercises and drills in collaboration with the contractor and emergency services.
• Recommend remedial actions after accidents, incidents, or security disruptions.
• Review security aspects of new rail and tram projects and ensure integration with existing security plans.
• Enforce adherence to RTA Information Security policies and participate in related training.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in rail or public‑transport security operations.
• Strong knowledge of security standards, emergency preparedness, and information‑security policies.
• Proven ability to work with external agencies and manage contractor performance.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to develop and implement improvement initiatives.
