Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Makan Consulting Engineers is looking for a highly experienced Senior Structural Design Engineer to join its engineering team in the UAE. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in structural analysis and design of residential, commercial, industrial and high-rise projects, with extensive experience in the UAE market and with authorities' requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review structural design calculations, drawings and reports
• Lead structural design development for various projects
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and clients
• Ensure compliance with UAE codes, regulations and authority requirements
• Conduct design optimization and technical evaluations
• Support project delivery within timelines and quality standards
• Attend meetings with clients, consultants and authorities when required

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of total structural design experience
• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in structural design consultancy
• Strong knowledge of RCC and steel structure design, UAE building codes, international standards and authority approvals and coordination
• Ability to lead design teams and coordinate with architects, MEP consultants and project stakeholders
• Excellent technical reporting and communication skills

Required skills

• Structural design software: ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000 and Revit Structure
• Design review, value engineering and project coordination
