Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

KN International is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer based at its head office in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The engineer leads structural design activities, prepares and reviews calculations and drawings, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams and ensures compliance with codes, standards, authority requirements and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and undertake structural analysis and design for buildings, civil engineering and infrastructure, including reinforced concrete and structural steelwork.
• Prepare calculations, analytical models, specifications, reports and detailed design drawings for new build schemes.
• Provide technical leadership for concept, scheme and detailed structural designs.
• Ensure designs meet codes, standards, regulatory approvals and project specifications.
• Review designs, calculations, drawings and deliverables for accuracy, quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with MEP, Architecture, Utilities and other teams.
• Support engineers and BIM technicians, manage tasks within scope, schedule and budget, and support site inspections.
• Communicate technical aspects of projects to team members and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 8 years of structural engineering experience in the UAE, focused on structural design.
• Proven experience designing and delivering building, civil or infrastructure structures.
• Experience in reinforced concrete and structural steelwork and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with local codes, standards and authorities, especially in the Middle East.

Required skills

• Structural analysis and design software: ETABS, STAAD/STAAD Pro, SAP2000.
• Revit and CAD, with experience in a 3D design environment; BIM familiarity desirable.
• Strong project management, technical, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
