Senior Structural Engineer (Site) - Building Construction

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer (Site) to join its team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role oversees structural engineering operations on-site, ensuring quality, safety and compliance across all construction phases, and acts as a technical authority working closely with architects, contractors and project management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive structural inspections and quality control assessments throughout construction to ensure compliance with approved designs and local building codes
• Analyze structural performance data and field conditions, recommending solutions to design or construction challenges
• Prepare and review technical documentation such as inspection reports, structural calculations and compliance certifications
• Supervise and coordinate structural work on-site in line with engineering specifications and safety protocols
• Collaborate with design teams on design modifications and their structural implications
• Manage material testing and verification so components meet specified standards
• Hold site meetings and communicate technical findings to stakeholders, contractors and project teams
• Mentor junior engineering staff and maintain records of inspections, test results and project documentation
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, regulations and industry best practices

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of professional structural engineering experience in site-based roles
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
