Senior Structural Engineer - Steel Erection

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to supervise the erection and installation of steel structures for Overground metro stations, including platforms, concourses, foot overbridges and roofing systems. The role ensures structural integrity, quality and compliance with international standards during construction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the erection and installation of steel structures for Overground metro stations, including platforms, concourses, foot overbridges and roofing systems.
• Ensure structural works follow approved drawings, specifications and relevant codes (IS, IRC, Eurocode, etc.).
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and internal teams to resolve technical issues on site.
• Monitor progress, quality control and adherence to safety protocols, and conduct regular site inspections.
• Prepare detailed reports on structural works, including non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Review and verify shop drawings, method statements and material submittals for steel structures.
• Liaise with design teams on site-related design changes or clarifications and ensure inspection, approval and quality records are documented.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in building projects.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, bolting and erection techniques.
• Familiarity with structural drawings, connection detailing and construction sequencing.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of BIM tools is a plus.
