Senior System Administrator

About the role

The Senior System Administrator will manage the client’s server, virtualization, directory, storage, and backup infrastructure, ensuring availability, security, and lifecycle management. This contract position supports a globally recognized client through Dautom’s IT consulting services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain physical and virtual servers, operating systems, and core infrastructure services.
• Manage Active Directory, identities, group policies, and access requests following least‑privilege principles.
• Plan and apply OS and platform patches in line with change management and security requirements.
• Operate backup and recovery processes, perform scheduled restore tests, and support disaster‑recovery exercises.
• Monitor capacity, performance, and health; take proactive actions to prevent incidents.
• Resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests within SLA and conduct root‑cause analysis for high‑priority incidents.
• Maintain asset and configuration records, system documentation, and operational runbooks.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL/Oracle) administration and hardening.
• Proficiency in VMware vSphere/vCenter virtualization administration.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault) and SAN/NAS storage.
• Knowledge of patch and vulnerability management tools (WSUS, SCCM, Intune, Satellite).
• Experience with Microsoft 365/Exchange administration and email security.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (SCOM, Zabbix, PRTG) and scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
• Understanding of security hardening aligned with CIS benchmarks and UAE IA standards.
