Senior Taxation Specialist

About the role

Deriv is looking for a Senior Taxation Specialist to own multi‑jurisdiction tax compliance and accounting. This individual contributor role focuses on deep technical expertise and cross‑functional influence rather than people management, helping the company scale its tax function as it expands into new markets.

Key responsibilities

• Run direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, coordinating with internal finance teams and external consultants.
• Build compliance frameworks from scratch when new jurisdictions are added.
• Own tax accounting processes, including current tax, deferred tax, provisions, and disclosures, ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Research tax implications of cross‑border transactions, structural changes, and business activities, providing timely, defensible solutions.
• Address transfer pricing challenges and support finance operations that leverage AI and automation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in multi‑jurisdiction tax compliance and tax accounting.
• Proven ability to design and implement tax frameworks for new markets.
• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to make decisions under incomplete information.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
