Senior Technical Project Manager – Thermal Generation

About the role

The Senior Technical Project Manager (STPM) will lead the technical development of large‑scale thermal power projects across the AMEA region, supporting asset extensions, greenfield developments, and decarbonisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical scope, select technologies, and perform performance and safety analyses for new and extended thermal plants.
• Manage all project studies from pre‑feasibility through feasibility, ESIA, and hand‑over to execution.
• Lead the preparation and negotiation of contractual documents such as EPC, PPA, electricity connection, LTPRA, LTSA, and O&M contracts.
• Qualify EPC contractors, oversee equipment supplier selection, and conduct technical review meetings to optimise plant design.
• Coordinate with Procurement, PMO, and internal stakeholders (BD, Construction, Operations, Legal, Finance) to align technical and commercial aspects.
• Develop CAPEX and OPEX estimates, liaise with lenders and their engineers, and support internal approval processes up to Financial Close.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing thermal generation projects (OCGT, CCGT) and related extensions.
• Strong understanding of power‑plant engineering, EPC contracting, and decarbonisation technologies.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants across AMEA.
