Senior Technical Project Manager – Thermal Generation

About the role

The Senior Technical Project Manager will lead the technical development of large thermal power projects and support decarbonisation initiatives across the AMEA region. Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Technical Support, the role is based at ENGIE's Dubai headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical scope, select technologies, and manage performance analysis for greenfield and extension projects.
• Lead preparation and negotiation of contractual documents such as EPC, PPA, O&M, and LTSA agreements.
• Coordinate technical studies (pre‑feasibility, feasibility, ESIA) and ensure safety, operability and maintainability in plant designs.
• Develop CAPEX and OPEX estimates, liaise with lenders, and support financial close activities.
• Drive decarbonisation projects, act as SPOC for ENGIE R&I programmes, and maintain technology watch.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with minimum 15 years of experience in thermal power generation (preferably CCGT).
• Proven experience in technical project development, bid preparation and contract negotiation.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills; ability to work with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Required skills

• Thermal power plant design and performance optimisation.
• Use of Thermoflow software (preferred).
• Preparation and negotiation of EPC, PPA, O&M, LTSA, and related contracts.
• CAPEX/OPEX cost modelling and financial due‑diligence coordination.
• Knowledge of decarbonisation technologies (renewable gases, CCUS, hydrogen, battery storage).
