Senior Technical Software Engineer - Java (Emiratisation)

About the role

Emirates is seeking a Senior Technical Software Engineer specialized in Java to join its agile feature team in Dubai. The role involves designing, developing, implementing and maintaining software solutions that support the Emirates Group’s business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to deliver technical design, development and deployment of complex solutions.
• Conduct technical design reviews and ensure appropriate architecture patterns are used.
• Drive engineering practices such as test‑driven development, CI/CD automation and incident post‑mortems.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to evaluate solutions, create prototypes and validate ideas.
• Investigate, debug and resolve complex issues and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing Java applications (Java 8/11/17) with Spring Boot.
• Proven experience mentoring software engineers and ensuring adherence to coding standards.

Required skills

• Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring WebFlux, JPA, Hibernate, JUnit/TestNG.
• Front‑end frameworks: ReactJS, NextJS.
• Messaging and integration: Solace, Tibco, Kafka, Netflix OSS.
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure (hybrid architecture).
• Databases: Oracle SQL, NoSQL, RESTful API development.
• CI/CD, DevOps, test‑driven development, SRE principles.
