Senior Technician - Mechanical Maintenance (Rotating)

About the role

ADNOC Offshore is looking for a Senior Technician for mechanical maintenance of rotating equipment in Abu Dhabi. The role covers hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and testing of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, generators and other rotating systems, while supporting commissioning, startup and reliability improvement. It also acts as a senior technical resource for junior technicians, promoting a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on rotating equipment, diagnose faults and perform repairs such as bearing replacement, alignment, seal replacement and balancing.
• Run post-maintenance tests and carry out condition-based maintenance using vibration readings, oil analysis and temperature/pressure trends.
• Support commissioning and startup of new machinery, including documentation review, acceptance, punch list closeout and handover.
• Perform predictive maintenance such as vibration checks, thermography, acoustic detection, oil sampling and performance monitoring.
• Escalate persistent failures to supervisors or rotating subject matter experts, assist in root cause analysis and help improve MTBF.
• Manage spare parts, tools and precision components, and maintain and report on tools such as dial indicators, laser alignment tools and vibration devices.
• Record work in the CMMS (MAXIMO), keep maintenance histories, inspection reports and test run logs, and provide daily activity reports.
• Mentor junior and trainee technicians and share technical knowledge.
• Follow ADNOC policies, procedures, COPs and HSEMS controls, including PTW, LOTO, confined space entry and SIMOPS, and take part in drills, emergency response and toolbox talks.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance of rotating equipment in oil and gas.
• Experience with pumps, compressors, turbines, motors and utility rotating systems.
• Exposure to commissioning, startup, shutdown and project handover processes.
