Senior Time Series Decomposition Specialist (Remote UAE)

About the role

A fully remote, 100% work-from-home position for a Senior Time Series Decomposition Specialist based in the United Arab Emirates. The specialist analyzes complex time-dependent datasets, separates them into trend, seasonality, cyclical movements and irregular variations, develops and validates decomposition methods, improves forecasting reliability and produces insights for strategic planning.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement time series decomposition methods for structured and unstructured temporal data, separating observations into trend, seasonal, cyclical and residual components.
• Apply classical decomposition, STL, X-13ARIMA-SEATS and other techniques, choosing additive or multiplicative approaches.
• Analyze seasonal patterns, long-term trends, cycles and irregularities, and identify structural breaks, outliers and anomalies.
• Assess the effect of calendar effects, holidays, external variables and exceptional events, and preprocess missing values, inconsistent intervals and irregular sampling.
• Validate outputs with statistical diagnostics and residual analysis, checking stationarity, autocorrelation and heteroscedasticity.
• Integrate results into forecasting, anomaly detection and predictive modeling, run sensitivity analyses and build reusable frameworks and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with data scientists, forecasters, economists and engineers, and prepare reports, visualizations and presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Econometrics, Economics or a related quantitative field.
• Significant experience in time series analysis, statistical modeling, forecasting or quantitative research.
• Practical experience with STL and classical decomposition; familiarity with ARIMA-based forecasting and exponential smoothing.
• Experience identifying structural breaks, anomalies and seasonal/cyclical patterns.
• Ability to work independently on complex analytical projects in a fully remote setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python or R and relevant statistical libraries.
• Advanced SQL and experience with large temporal datasets.
• Data visualization and analytical reporting tools.
