Service Technician - MG Vehicles

About the role

Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory (ASMEF), which runs MG service centres in the UAE, is hiring a Service Technician in Al Ain. The role covers routine vehicle servicing, preventive maintenance, pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and basic repairs, following MG guidelines and Inter Emirates Motors (IEM) standard operating procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out minor periodic servicing and preventive maintenance in line with MG guidelines and IEM SOPs.
• Repair or replace worn and faulty components according to the assigned job order.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) so vehicles meet quality and operational standards before delivery.
• Use vehicle scanning tools such as VDS to read and clear fault codes where applicable.
• Assist Repair and Diagnostic Technicians with repair and troubleshooting.
• Report vehicle faults and additional repair needs to the Supervisor and record working time on job orders.
• Maintain an inventory of standard tools, coordinate with the Workshop Controller and Parts Advisor, and keep the work area clean and organised.
• Keep up with automotive technology through formal training and follow health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar automotive service technician position.
• Practical experience in routine servicing, preventive maintenance and basic mechanical repairs.
• Higher Diploma in Mechanics.
• Advanced Technician Qualification certification is required.
• English and Arabic proficiency preferred.

Required skills
