Services Engineer – Steam Trap Specialist (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are looking for a Services Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team, focusing on steam trap inspection and condition assessment across refineries, petrochemical plants, LNG facilities and offshore platforms. The role aims to improve steam system reliability, reduce energy losses and support operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with safety and integrity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct steam trap surveys in live operating oil & gas facilities, including on‑shore and offshore sites.
• Inspect steam traps using ultrasonic testing equipment, infrared temperature measurement and visual assessment.
• Identify failed or inefficient traps, verify correct installation, sizing and orientation.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, failure analyses, steam‑loss calculations and energy‑saving estimates.
• Update steam‑trap management databases and provide client‑ready documentation.
• Support plant reliability programs, coordinate with operations, maintenance and energy teams, and assist during shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Recommend appropriate steam‑trap technologies for critical process applications.
• Ensure all technical documents comply with company procedures and report incidents to QHSE management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in steam‑trap inspection or related industrial engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of steam‑trap specifications, applications and energy‑efficiency principles.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
