Services Specialist - Technical Support (Remote)

About the role

Baker Hughes is looking for a Services Specialist (Technical Support) to join its BRUSH team, which covers electric generators, synchronous condensers, electric motors and related control power management systems. The role provides 24-hour technical assistance to customers around the world by phone and email, and is primarily a home-based position with flexible working.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour remote technical support by phone and email, diagnosing faults and offering remote service on a call-out basis
• Interpret specifications and technical requirements
• Represent the company at customer technical meetings
• Train customers' personnel, subcontractors and other members of the service organization
• Own the resolution of post-sales technical customer issues
• Work cross-functionally with internal and external customers, liaising with Field Service Engineers and internal technical teams to coordinate support

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from a four-year university or college, or at least 10 years of field service experience
• 1-3+ years of proven experience supporting customers
• Experience in Field Service, Service Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability or Technical Support
• Previous experience supporting generators, motors, switchgear or power generation equipment
• Previous experience providing remote technical support to industrial customers and in an on-call support environment
• Detail-oriented, organized, with good interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization and external customers

Required skills

• Knowledge of condition monitoring, diagnostics and root cause analysis
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and requirements
