Sheet Metal Senior Technician

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group focused on defence and emerging technologies, is hiring a Sheet Metal Senior Technician in Abu Dhabi. You will produce sheet metal parts according to job cards, work instructions and the shift plan, and complete the tasks allocated to you.

Key responsibilities

• Perform processes on the product on time, following approved working documents and all requirements.
• Ensure the product meets the drawing requirements.
• Carry out and report periodic equipment performance checks and implement Kaizens and 6S.
• Withdraw tools for use and store them properly after use.
• Take part in TPM activities and maintain equipment according to TPM guidelines.
• Give input on complex operations, identify defects and help with rectification.

Required profile

• ITI or diploma or equivalent in Aerospace, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
• Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and project requirements, and to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• English proficiency is required.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Lean tools and techniques, and SAP (function-specific module).
• Hands-on sheet metal experience such as hand forming, hand dressing, check and straightening, manual cutting and drilling, routing, deburring, press brake forming, manual rolling, fluid cell forming and rubber press forming.
