Simulator Technician – Early Career

About the role

The Simulator Technician I will support the operation, maintenance and reliability of simulator equipment in CAE's maritime training centre in Abu Dhabi. This position offers an early‑career professional the chance to develop specialist simulator maintenance skills through structured training and hands‑on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and visual system alignments on simulators and associated systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, including running automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.
• Record maintenance activities in the maintenance management system and support logistics such as receiving parts and validating repairs.
• Conduct pre‑ and post‑training checks, assist with simulator refurbishment, hardware modifications and provide technical support to customers and the wider Technical Services team.

Required profile

• Two‑year technical degree or four‑year Bachelor’s in electronics, computers, IT, mechatronics or a related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant technical experience and ability to work flexible shifts.
• Ability to read and interpret system drawings, technical schematics and possess a driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of analogue and digital theory, soldering and circuit board repair.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications and basic PC architecture.
