Site Accountant – Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Accountant to join our construction team. The role focuses on managing day‑to‑day financial activities on construction sites, ensuring accurate recording of expenses, petty cash, and project‑related transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile site expense records, petty cash, purchases, and payments.
• Verify invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes and ensure proper documentation.
• Coordinate financial matters with Site Engineers, Project Managers, Procurement, Stores and Head Office.
• Track project costs, allocate expenses to correct cost centres and monitor budgets, commitments and variances.
• Process subcontractor and supplier invoices and support month‑end closing activities.
• Prepare regular site financial reports and expense summaries for management.
• Identify discrepancies or unusual expenses and report them to the Finance Manager.
• Maintain proper filing of all site financial records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4–5 years of accounting experience within the construction industry.
• Hands‑on experience as a Site Accountant or Project Accountant on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of construction project accounting and cost tracking.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple site‑related accounting tasks.
